About Dr. Mahsa Javid, MBBChr MA(Cantab) DPhil FRCS FRCSC
Dr. Mahsa Javid, MB, BChir, MA, DPhil, FRCS, FRCSC, is an accomplished academic endocrine surgeon and
internationally
trained surgical leader. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Surgery, Chief of Endocrine
Surgery, and Endowed
Chair (Kenneth F. Von Roenn, M.D. Family Chair in Surgical Endocrinology) at the University of
Louisville. She
previously held faculty appointments at the Medical University of South Carolina and Yale University
School of Medicine.
Dr. Javid completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Cambridge, followed by
General Surgical
Residency, Higher Specialist Training, and a DPhil at the University of Oxford. She completed an
Endocrine Surgery
Fellowship at Yale. Her expertise includes benign and malignant endocrine diseases, complex and
reoperative surgery,
minimally invasive techniques, and posterior retroperitoneoscopic adrenal surgery. She is fluent in
English and Farsi.
