About Dr. Melissa Ajunwa Bohonos, M.D.
Dr. Melissa Ajunwa Bohonos, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and
comprehensive
ophthalmologist with over a decade of clinical and surgical experience. She currently serves as an
Ophthalmology
Principal Investigator at Eurofins and practices in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her medical degree
from Morehouse
School of Medicine, completed her ophthalmology residency at Boston University School of Medicine, and
pursued advanced
glaucoma fellowship training at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Bohonos specializes in the
management of
glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), providing both medical and surgical care. In
addition to
traditional ophthalmic treatments, she has additional training in functional medicine and nutrition
counseling, allowing
her to offer integrative, patient-centered approaches to eye health. She is board certified by the
American Board of
Ophthalmology and an active member of leading professional ophthalmic organizations.
